More sophisticate to-do permission for users,admins,clients etc.
I really enjoyed the light-weight of the freedcamp so far, and am not really expecting it getting too large. But features like permission to To-do list is highly expected and I think this is a basic feature for managing your team. E.g, only admins can create and (re)assign todo items, users can only view and change the status of to-do items. clients can also create to-do items but need approval by admins.

Added member role to admin and user. Permissions are clearly defined in ‘Legend’ on new Manage teams and apps page.

You say that they can create and edit ToDos, are these ToDos only for themselves? Will they have access to assign ToDos to other people?
Any idea on when this will be implemented? I see that the ETA on this was November / December...

Hi Mike,
We are working on permission set where you can asssign tasks to clients, they can only change status of tasks assigned to them (No progress, In progress, Completed). They can also comment but they can not edit TODO's assigned to them. They will be able to look at and comment on ToDos not assigned to them. They can also create and edit ToDos. At this stage we will not have restriction not allowing them to create TODOs.

I am confused by your comment a little. Are you saying that this is not something we'll be able to do? If I understand your comment, which I may not, you're saying that we just have to tell our clients to not add to-do items?

All you said in Dec/Jan with the exception - they can create own To-Dos and Discussions, Milestones and control them. Will be your duty to tell them not to do it if it is not your workflow.

it would be great if we could have the "client" role done in a different capacity. We want to allow our client the opportunity to access the full project and see where we're at with regards to the progress on their project. We also want to be able to assign to-do items to the client but don't want them to have access to change or update the to-do items.
Is this something we can expect to see with this update?

Hi April,
At the moment the only way is to separate clients and team into separate projects. We are working now (ETA Nov/Dec) on refined permission set. After this is done we will solve visibility making it super easy to show only certain parts of a projects to certain user groups in your project.

Hello! Will you be incorporating the ability to make To Dos "private" or only seen by a certain group? I was using Freedcamp for both Clients and Team Members and I did not want Clients to see To Dos within my team (my clients get confused because they choose to be notified of all activity). Ideally, I would be able to create a Group To Do and assign specific people access to that. Thoughts?

We are adding a new role. If a user has this role assigned he/she can only change progress status on TODOs which were not created by this user. User still can create TODOs and do any action but on TODOs created by them. Same in Discussions - such user can only alter data created by such user - not others.
