  1. So you have the calls section but there needs to be an email section that for now you could at least track the emails that you have sent. Understand that connecting it to email is not on the list but just some way that I can put a note in that says I sent and email on such a date, content of it and then I can create a task to follow up. Right now I really dont see how I would do that.

    Hi Clint,

Probably easiest way for us will be to use Email In – https://freedcamp.com/Freedcamp_LxR/Freedcamp_Devel_yOf/wiki/wiki_public/view/v9bab

in CRM allowing to see such emails in CRM and associate them with correct contacts inside Freedcamp’s CRM.

For emails you are sending to contacts – you can add BCC to post it to Fredcamp CRM. For emails from contacts – you can forward them to Freedcamp with email-in.

    What do you think?

    Cheers,
    Igor

  2. Managing email notifications is not intuitive. Email notifications are without a doubt, overwhelming as they are issued for every, every, every little thing. Freedcamp generates way too many notifications.

Notifications go out for change of status, for change of assignment and so on, yet it is not crystal clear in the email that gets received as to why exactly the notification is issued because the notification contains the entire task -- task headers and entire comment thread. My clients hate the email notifications and therefore disregard them completely. I have setup Gmail filters to essentially send all/any incoming Freedcamp messages…

Will it help if we allow to invite people and define their notification level for projects you invite them to? In this case, you will invite people with ‘none’ and they will be using a new Notifications page to catch up?

  3. It would be great if there was a way to share a discussion through a public link. This would be good way to share info with clients that are reluctant to create a freedcamp account to access it. This way we have to continue to use email to have discussions.

Cheers and good work so far!

  5. It would be nice that, instead of leaving the back color of the name tags grey, they could be colored (just like the Priority tag) so it's more immediate to see which task is assigned to whom. Right now it gets a bit blended with the due date and between the name tags.

I don't think it needs consistency beyond the project (like having each user its "own" color, which sounds very silly and impractical).
Perhaps havign a set color for the creator-administrator of the project/task could be of some use.
And it would need to avoid the colors already…

  6. In my AGENDA, if a task due date is on a previous date, it disappears. It would be incredibly helpful for the homepage AGENDA to have a section above the current date that indicates "past due" items - along with the date the item was originally due. Perhaps this section would grow large and be overwhelming for some people, so having an easy way to toggle it on and off would be helpful to some.

Showing it the Calendar (Agenda) will be a bit weird I think. What if we will show them in the Work section above the CURRENT WORKLOAD paragraph as OVERDUE? But it will be only your own overdue items.

You can also get access to all overdue items on the Tasks Board by creating a saved search to show you all overdue items with two clicks (select status In Progress or No Progress and Due date in the past).

If you want to see overdue to start – select ‘No Progress’ and Start date in the past

If this comment is part of a conversation it will remove it from the context and put it elsewhere making it hard to follow in the future. Wouldn’t it be better to just pin a comment and keep it in place and have a filter in Comments to shop only pinned ones instead?

  8. I noticed it's been slightly annoying for having to go back to the Widgets Board to view recent activity. What if the recent activity of a project is displayed above tasks and other app tabs? So you can view just recent activity of just that project so it takes out the extra step of going back to the Widget Board and scanning through the recent activity on the Widget Board. The recent activity on the Widget Board is great to view it as a whole but it would be awesome to also be able to see it by the project…

  10. I haven´t found a way to list my tasks by project name using the search box. For example, all tasks from projects with "design" in the title. Currently, it can only find strings in the task description, so I must copy and paste project title in every task created. It would be great to filter the task list by project group too.

For example, if you type on tasks Board in search: ptitle::design
    - it will only search in projects with the name including 'design'

  11. It would be convenient to be able to set task view (list/kanban) globally. Right now I have to configure task view per project which can be somewhat annoying considering the amount of projects I'm part of.

  12. Include project name next to tasks on email notifications + "My Work" & "Important Updates" on Freedcamp.com

There are many places where you can see tasks that are currently active and assigned to you, including:
    • Daily email notifications from Freedcamp
    • Freedcamp.com dashboard: the "My Work" module
    • Freedcamp.com dashboard: the "Important Updates" module

However, the associated project name is not listed next to these tasks.

My challenge with this is that we often have the same tasks assigned to us across different projects. So seeing the name of a task is not helpful enough. Need to know which…

I guess this has to be optional. For a lot of users, your use case is not applicable but will make UI much messier.

Right now everywhere you can hover your mouse and see the project name and project group name associated with the task.

  15. Integrate with Salesflare to automatically create accounts. Salesflare is the easiest CRM but now that I'm spending time in Freedcamp - I just want to have the easy pulled into the effective.

  16. Let's say we onboard a client for a site redesign. It would be nice to have a tool that could allow an overlay on the client site, so the client can make notes and requests regarding changes.

Those notes could be linked to the project, and upon approval, that would be on the issue tracker.

    Something like Userback or Fronter.io

  17. Streamline adding a task – at the moment it’s comprehensive, but almost prohibitively long-winded to add a task. A “Quick” add button would be useful where you simply add a task and choose a project.

As a user, I need to be able to quickly add a task to a project in the shortest amount of steps and time possible so that I can make the best use of time in Outlook.

  19. Currently, the project bar spans from the date of the first task until the end of the last, despite gaps in timeline. For eg. I have a project starting in November that won't end until February. However, there are no tasks scheduled across the Christmas break yet it appears that there is. Another example is that when running multiple projects, it appears that multiple projects are being run at the same time when it isn't always the case.

If the project bar is only visible when there is a task in place, it will reduce clutter and more accurately reflect…

    Hi Nathan,

A lot of people leave 1-2 gaps between tasks in any project. For example, the Critical Chain approach by Goldratt calls them buffers. If we will show all gaps Gantt for projects will look like fence most of the time.

Sure – we can show the project name and its progress after the bar.

    What do you think?

It will also be cool to be able to change color opacity for areas with a lot of tasks (darker) to less load (lighter) color.

  20. It would be a nice feature to have a message or sms alert - "Did you forget to clock out?" in case the computer sees you have been working on something for more than 24 hours. You could set it yourself to 48 or more hours, in case you are on a deadline and really are working on it for x hours straight.

I think there is a lot of value in this. We are hoping with Version 3’s api people would develop third party desktop applications to help you with type of things. So the application would track if you are still working on computer and after x minutes of inactivity can just turn time off. I will add this in our list of things to consider for improving the time application. Thank you.
