Add option to select 'not' for each filter category
Obviously it's easy to filter on a status of "Open, Completed, Review, In Progress, Invalid". But what if I wanted to see "all issues NOT Completed".
Yes I could go in and create a positive filter "all issues with status of Open, Review, In Progress and Invalid" but it would be a lot easier to just say "not Completed" or "not in Review" etc.
Same for filtering by "User Assigned To".
We have a long list of Freedcamp users so if I wanted to see issues "not assigned to Chris" I'd need to select around 20 users except Chris. Whereas if there was a "not" operator I could simply tick that and then choose Chris.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,
Thanks for posting. Great idea – just need to redesign filters so we add this option without doubling amount of options in each filter category.
Cheers,
Igor

Filter only allows us to select projects or project groups to be shown. There should be a feature to allow certain project groups or projects to NOT be shown. The disadvantage of the former is that new projects will have to be selected every time they get created-- if we forget to select them in the filter, they will not be shown in the task board, possibly missing out on them.
If we have a negative filter, the new project or project group will automatically be shown because they do not meet the criteria of the negative filter.
The is useful if we do not want to show active project templates in the task board.

Another use case: filtering a task list by date. I can pick today OR in the past OR OR OR. And I can only pick one.
I can't pick today or in the past (which means any task that could be worked on). But if I could select NOT IN THE FUTURE for the filter I would easily see everything that matters.

Wow. I'm surprised that this doesn't have more love. Here's another use case for negative filters: saved calendars.
This software is awesome. I want to use it for my internal projects as well as my client projects. I would love to save searched that only return my client projects, events, etc.
Option 1: update all of my saved searches when I add a client.
Option 2: save the searches as not "my internal team" and it's good forever -
@Ellie - not completed in Tasks - select 'In Progress' and 'No progress' and save this filter as 'Not completed' tasks. Please see more http://blog.freedcamp.com/?s=saved+searches&submit=Search
If you refer to widgets - please let me know in your reply.

I would really like to see "not" as a filter parameter too. Trying to see a list of what is not completed seems like it should be very easy and basic yet I can not seem to do this at all.

---------Better use case will be a need to select all 'assigned' task hiding all 'unassigned'. Now you will have to select each person to do it and if a new person is invited - needs to be added to a filter not to be missed.
BTW we think of adding a few saved filters to Tasks and global Tasks board similar to ones we have in Issue Tracker application.
