Convert a discussion to a task or issue
It would be really useful to be able to convert a discussion to a new task. Quite often discussion leads to something that should be done or customers are posting requests as discussions, although they should be tasks. (You just can't handle them... ;)

What should happen on conversion?
a) a discussion with all comments is removed and turned to a task or issues
OR
b) a discussion gets a comment with a task/issue smart link appended to the description and the last comment and a new task/issue gets a link to a discussion in its description on conversion?

I prefer B - Since we may need to reference the thread of prior comments and the discussion or source task that's associated with the newly converted comment-to-task (for context or auditing). So in the new task or issue description, provide a link back to the source task or discussion. This is how I do it in clickup, which often works well enough to take and track action on less complex requirements. https://clickup.com/features/assign-comments

I would like to see the option to be able to turn a discussion into a task or Bug issue. This would alleviate the necessity to copy and paste each time we get a discussion point raised from a client which needs to be actioned.
Let's make this happen! -

I agree this makes common sense. The copy and paste option is a pain. Would be so much better if we could.

I can't believe there isn't more interest in this. Surely all tasks would start with a discussion before you start assigning tasks.
Yes you may have that discussion in person, but that may not be an option for everyone. More importantly having to filter, copy and paste email discussions or dissect the text into shorter form is a pain when there is already an option to start a discussion here.
