Integrate Tasks and Time applications in Freedcamp
- Track time directly from task
- Allow recording multiple time entries per task/issue by different people with optionally providing a short description
- In Tasks and Issue Tracker applications, display time worked with the ability to expand to see individual time entries
Please check the announcement – https://blog.freedcamp.com/2021/09/25/seamlessly-track-time-on-tasks-and-issues/

It would be nice that time tracker could records any single entry, for example:
If I worked 4 hours at task A at morning, and after lunch I worked more 3 hours at same task, It could shows 2 entries at same related Time record. Furthermore, sum up 5 hours.

Sorry, as soon as it is planned I will post ETA.

When this feature will be available?
We would like to adopt Freedcamp, but time tracking is a very important feature.About the feature:
a) Yes, we definitely need estimate time;
b) it can be an optional feature admins can turn on;
But it would be useful a notification if someone changes estimated time;
Don't need Evidence Based Schedulingc) no need to calculate % completion - if we have estimate time and worked time in the task - the same way we can see the due date in the kanban view, is enough
d) what reports are needed - B) Tasks on track vs tasks not on track, C) Tasks over estimate. D) Team load, would be great
About reminders, It could be an optional, but I'm not sure if we would use it. I'd prefer the ability to add more columns in the kanban instead of this reminders.

It would also be nice if you could choose between points and hours to appeal to the agile folks.

a) Yes it is a feauture we could need for our company. An overall estimated time for a project and estimate for each task. We calculate time and price for each task in a project for our client. It is essential to also have time tracking on each task.
The most important feature is to assign more than one person to a task, so they get a notice about it and get it in their schedule. All assigned to the task must be able to set time.b) Not a problem
c) Not needed for us
d) An easy report that shows total estimate and used time for the whole project and for each task in the project, so we can easily calculate loss or win or see where to improve.

a. You can already estimate time in comments, so no, work on something more important.
c. No, for reasons I gave earlier about the simplicity of the calculations.
d. Excel can do this in 30 seconds flat, and you can even print reports ... just give access to export estimations and actual time spent to some format that imports directly to a formatted Excel (or any competitor) spreadsheet. -

Neat idea, but the math isn't that difficult. A time tracker alone would be fine. 100:130 is 130% of estimated 100, inversely 76.9% (100/130)... very simple arithmetical calculations... no formulae needed.

Is this still in the works? If so, do you have an ETA?

It would be usefull to be able to link time tracking to tasks. And have a report that shows time by tasks and by day.
-
"Be able to fill in the estimated time on a To-do (without creating a time task), after you complete a to-do a popup should show up and ask you how many hours &/or minutes you've spend on the To-do you just completed.
This is way easier than adding seperate Time Tasks which you cannot link to a to-do."

"It would be great to have the time tracker automatically add a date stamp to time entries. Sometimes it is necessary to report the amount of time spent for a certain day or span of days or months." Mike

We have switched to full time work one month ago. You will see a lot of improvements in 2014.

I didn't realize these forums existed but I had just contacted them today about this same idea (basically) and they say they are working on it... This original suggestion was posted about 3 years ago so not sure if we will see it.

The only update we can provide you at this time is that we have this feature on our list and will be launched within 2014.

Any updates on this? This is the one thing that is really driving us crazy: logging time directly to a task and then having a way to summarize it.

Hey Alex,
So unfortunately the feature was built as I stated last year, however we had to make the hard decision to revert all these types of changes that would merge functionality of two applications together in exchange for building an "extension" system that would provide this functionality ONLY when the user decides they want it.
As a system that is trying to provide universal Project Management to every type of user we decided it's important for us to make less decisions on the users behalf of what they NEED and what we think they need. So in Version 3 we have laid some of the ground work for these modules that will add more functionality for users who choose to have it. This keeps interface simple and interactions straight forward, but also will provide unlimited extendability for users who want to do advanced linking of applications.
The truth is Version 3 will not support this on initial release, we have tried to scale down the amount of changes we are going to release to ensure a stable and timely release. Our main focus will be on our new API which then will allow for developers to create these types of modules for the user.
Best,

At the moment (I'm pretty sure) you can't log time directly to an existing task, and have to instead label logged time using a free text field. This creates a disconnect between tasks and logged time.
