"Notes" tab for projects
Right now we use the Discussion board for notes, but it seems a little more than what is needed for basic notes. Re regularly like to update the project about contact that we have with our clients and having a simple tab where we can just say "Add Note" would be great. That way a list of our notes is in chronological order and easier to navigate than the Discussion tab.

I would really like the option to have a landing page for each project as well. Something that is just free text, where you can post things like updates, goal, highlights, etc.
Starting simple would be great - nothing too complicated. A general Overview / Notes tab would be very helpful - an ability to give an overview outline to the project. Perhaps you'd write the mission or goal of the project. I don't think it needs to be overly complicated - as people could use it differently. But having the ability to add attachments here is key. Also, this should be Tab #1 - but I would like the ability to re-order tabs.
Another idea here is to have an ability to move all incomplete (In Progress and/or Not started tasks) forward (project delayed) or backward (project needs to be completed faster).
@Steve - Gantt was released in beta last weekend but will be available on Enterprise plan for now.
Regarding the rest - fair enough. We are heading in this direction. You will find systems having features we yet plan to develop, having them or ones who do not want them at be added at all.
Project start date, action date, and due dates are the base for the most basic levels of project management. An action date "follow up date, project review" would also be nice.
I'm slightly dumbfounded this product does not have them available. It is the single handed reason I will probably venture to another software platform if not made available quickly.
Ability to analyze and track current and past projects is just as important.
Will there be a Gantt chart available once the start and due date is available?
This sounds like it could work.
Agreed - We need a place to collaborate on text or provide a project summary, similar to Basecamp Text Editor/Documents.
Igor - I don't think it needs to be a widget. I think it just needs to be a tab with an area to write notes. Doesn't need to be a status update widget.

The ability to add some notes for a project would be really appreciated.
Note widget for the status application or a stand alone note application, both are good ideas.

An Overview is different but would be very useful.
And the suggested 'Status' doesn't capture the need to make points and comments about different things that are 'just notes'!
So a section where you can write what you want with a main title (and can re-order this) with headings, sub-headings, bullet points, cut/copy and paste etc would be extremely useful.

Something like asana has where you can put general notes for a project, as well as updates would be awesome
I really just want a big notes field to use as a summary. I like to write the brief for a project so I can refer to it and add to it as I work on a project. Not a to do list; not a discussion, just 'notes'.
My latest view on it - 'Overview' application which is like Widgets but for a project with extra widgets - team, kickoff message etc.
What if will turn this idea into a new project application called 'Status' which will have ability to add widgets as on global widgets page but only for this project and some specific widgets - can be notes, project status (green yellow, red), project start and end dates, tasks completed vs remaining, milestones completed vs remaining.
Why not to use Freedcamp Wiki App instead? I use them for this functionality.

Navigation between To Do's and Discussion is not easy. And we often confuse the both use.
To have an arrow on each post to navigate directly to corresponding Discussion/To Do's would be a great idea !
Also 1) we would be able to see directly if there is a corresponding Discussion/To Do's and 2) it would be easier to use correctly the both part if navigation between them is easier.
