Allow emailing into a specific project
It would be useful to be able to email into a project- specifically if we have automated reports to share with clients (Google Analytics reports, regular SEO reports etc), we'd like to send these into Freedcamp rather than via email, as it keeps it all within one place
Hi All,
It is done. You can create tasks, discussions, issues and upload files by emailing them in.
You can provide unique emails to people not having Freedcamp account to do the same (use it with caution).
This feature is part of Lite/Business and Enterprise plans in Freedcamp.
Cheers,
Igor

Yes, the asks are somekind of threads to solve an issue. To be able to send and receive full featured Emails (attachment, formatting, inline bitmaps by drag&drop and clipboard paste) would open a wide range for project task management with external partners.
Would love to see it for software development and for architectural offices.
This would melt the smart task management of freedcamp with a ticket system like OTRS. -
@Kate - always top task list. We thought that adding too many commands will make it hard to use. You post it via email, you get Freedcamp email back, follow a link and change Task List.
One day we will create at least GMail plugin which will provide UI inside GMail to select all attributes - project, due date, task list etc etc. Please upvote here https://freedcamp.uservoice.com/forums/126945-suggestions-for-features/suggestions/9165151-gmail-application-or-browser-extension-to-push-ema

Hi - when emailing in, is there a way to specify which "task group" a task should go into?
-
@Steve - glad to hear you like it.
Re: "Didn't see any mention of it, but is there a syntax used to assign due date when emailing a task?"
- we can plan it for hard core users. We were thinking of it but decided not to do for now. Please post it as a new feature request prefixed "Email-In:"
We can either share format in our documentation or allow you to send an email-in to email-in+tasks@freedcamp.com to get a template email back.
Other idea we are were thinking is this:
- now when you post it only you will be subscribed
- if you go to Freedcamp and subscribe others they will see only next updateIdea was pre-post in Freedcamp, send email confirmation to you with a link you can follow and check others to subscribe and hit 'Post it now' button which will create an item and notify people
Same page can be used to set due date etc instead of remembering command line version of it :)
Cheers,

Ok, I'm on a paid plan, so what's the story. Can I start using this feature yet? If so, then where's the info on it?

has this been launched yet? Really eager to use it.

Only for paid plans? That is a pity, it is a standard free feature in meistertask / asana etc....
-
We will release it tomorrow and let our team to test on live for a few days before enabling it for all. This will be only available in our paid plans.

Thank you, -
@Jared it will be hash+tasks etc like
"Freedcamp Development Tasks"" <8af89197242b825cebead26716f4ae10+tasks@mail.freedcamp.com>We will allow to export all to CSV and import to contacts to your email client. You can use find/replace to make it:
"fcdev_tasks"" <8af89197242b825cebead26716f4ae10+tasks@mail.freedcamp.com> so when you start typing fcd... you will see auto-suggestions for each email in this projects in your email client.Managing aliases is not something we want to develop right now. People do change project names + we have a lot of international users

Give each project a short alias like a+files b+tasks etc. Having to type in the entire project name is a real pita.

The ability to create task/issues via email is desperately needed. It would be a huge time saver for our users.
