Project Group applications - make them global?
I realize this is not a short-term request and is a major shift from how Freedcamp works now so maybe this might be a consideration for when there is a major update in the future.
I love Freedcamp, but it has felt a little off to me and I couldn't put my finger on it until today. It feels backward as I'm using it.
If I want to go into the CRM, I have to first remember which project I attached the CRM to. Same with all the major apps: files, issue tracker, wiki, discussions, etc...
It would seem to make more sense to be able to go directly into the key apps without first having to go into a project. Access and permissions could have person or project level access within a global app.
I am relatively new to Freedcamp so if I'm missing something let me know.

Hi Jody,
CRM is a project group application https://freedcamp.com/Freedcamp_LxR/Freedcamp_Devel_yOf/wiki/wiki_public/view/Pgaab
You can access project group applications from Project Board https://freedcamp.com/dashboard
They are shown next to a project group name or inside project picker – same. You do not need to go into a project to access it. Side menu inside all projects in a project group will show CRM link to the same CRM added to that project group.
You are right to the point that Invoices, Passwords and CRM should probably become global apps not project group related – you add those who you want to be able to access it by selecting from invited users or just inviting directly to Passwords without a need to invite to a project first.
Regards,
Igor

In my mind the Wiki app would build over time becoming a store of knowledge. So I'm not sure why it is limited to being only available at a Project level. It would be better as a Project Group or even an Organisation app or at least have the option.
This way a year from now you don't have to try and remember which project a particular resolution document was stored in the Wiki -

Thanks for the GDrive suggestion, but we don't use GSuite. Our preferred alternative is Zoho.suite of apps.
On a different note, because we have added all the "single use apps" as projects, our projects list has grown quite lengthy. Anyway to make it more manageable in the future would be appreciated.

@Jody - thanks for sharing. This is a way to go, for now.

FYI...We brainstormed a short term workaround yesterday. It involves creating a new "company-wide" group and creating projects like "Company Files", "Company Discussions", "Company Issue Tracker", "Company CRM", etc... It's not ideal as all the other apps are available in the project and it takes more than one click to get to where you're going, but we think it will work better for us.FYI..

@Jody - best way will be to create a GDrive folder, allow read-only access and create Wiki pointing to it with explanations. Create projects from Template having this Wiki already inside the template (Business plan only) or just create Wiki by copy/pasting in each new project.
Do not forget to add new members as shared with on GDrive.

I'm thinking projects as an app just like other apps but perhaps a project can be flagged inside other apps not the other way around. (sorry, I went beyond requirements into designing :)
Right now I have individuals in different projects and project groups that will need the same files and wiki documentation but shouldn't have access to each others projects/groups. Unless there is a better way, we are entering data twice which means duplicate storage and duplicate work to get it into the system.
