Assign task to more than one person
Currently you can only assign a to-do to one person or every person.
It would be great to be able to assign a to-do to 2< people.

It is now available on all paid plans. All existing paying customers (as of 15 Nov 2021) will have to enable it. This is because not all project managers are fans of shared tasks responsibility and we do not want to mess with our customer’s current setup.
All users upgrading to paid plans will have it enabled by default but can easily disable it too.

This would be very useful in our project.

@Erin - have you completed https://goo.gl/forms/okzM7hpHKrHdxc7r2?

Agreed. We are looking to use this software as a way to manage our global budget, so we need multiple people to be assigned and confirm completion of the same task, but done separately for individual countries. The workaround is onerous.

Yes Please its a must to be able to assign tasks to more than one person

As James mentioned below, being able to assign a task and/or sub-task to more than one individual really is the only reasonable way to handle some project workflows. Having copies of the same sub-task for multiple individuals makes the task process unnecessarily complicated and confusing, when two or more people truly *do* need to work on the same (identical) task.
-
How about we add a multiple selection box when you create a task and IF you selected more than one person it will create a task and N subtasks - each assigned individually for you underneath 'Update BIO'?

What Johannes said. That's what I need very badly. E.g. I need everyone on a project to submit a bio for the website. I don't want to make 13 separate tasks and assign them all individually, I want to assign it to all of them and have a counter of some kind that keeps track of who has done it and who hasn't. I need this all the time. Whatever sort of structure the existing task feature was made for is not what I'm working with.
-
@James - wouldn't it be easier to not assign a task but subscribe a few people who should consider doing a task. They decide who will be responsible and take it - others remain subscribed to help and contribute but ultimately they are no longer responsible for a delivery?

It would be great to be able to hand-pick multiple individuals to work on a single task. For example, proofing our copy is a single step in our process, but we always want more than one set of eyes on it. Adding two or three names to this task would be easier than creating two or three different tasks for the same step.

It would be good to have a feature where you can assign a single task to more than one member. Right now you can only assign to a single member.

As suggested by Igor, I do post my request here: I would appreciate to assign a task to a whole team. If you want always one person to be responsible (and thus keep it as it is), then I suggest to have in "notify" a list of the teams to quickly select the tech team or sales team etc. That speeds up a lot.
-
We still want to do it - so 'planned'. Most likely the first solution will be after project teams will be removed, global teams will just become teams - we will allow assigning teams to items.

It seems as though many other feature requests have made it into the next major release. Any updates on this feature that still seems to be in the planning phase?

Mainly use this to manage having team members read and comment on work. If I could assign multiple team members to a given task, I wouldn't have to duplicate tasks to accomplish that.

+1 for this as well. Need to be able to assign sub tasks to different users than the main task.

@Johannes - the problem is this for you, who completed this task, it should show as completed, for you, as a project manager it should show as not completed. For the rest of the team who do not manage a project, it should go away from their radars when they completed it.
Maybe it will be easier to allow to create a task, assign a team or all or selected individuals and select - create subtasks for each person assigned which will duplicate this task as a subtask for each person?
In this case, 10/13 works as we already have it in Subtasks Pro as you, as a manager, know that subtasks assigned to you is completed by you BUT it is still 10/13?
Just thinking out loud.
Cheers,
Igor

While Assigning to Everyone works, there is no chance for indivudals to set it to completed, while others still see it as a task to be done. Thus there is no status like "3/13 have completed".
Additionally in the end it should automatically be set to completed of the last assigned person sets status "completed" (e.g. 13/13)
