Role permission only to view without editing
Sometimes a client should not be able to edit certain things and only have the permission to view it only for their information.

@Alex - we do not have plans right now to have private tasks. This feature is posted here https://freedcamp.uservoice.com/forums/126945-suggestions-for-features/suggestions/3132910-tasks-make-them-assigned-visible-to-user-group-p
Sorry about it.

What about a permission to only SEE the Tasks assigned to them, that they are @mentioned in, or are added to the notifications for?
My problem now is that I have an internal board for my team and an external board for my client, but there are still certain Tasks internally that I do not want certain team members to be able to even see, click, read, etc. I want them to have zero interaction or knowledge of it.
Is this possible, the same way it's possible for them to only see the Projects they are invited to?
If this feature is not possible I will have to consider switching project management platforms, and I'd be very frustrated that the language used by Freedcamp to describe the roles I had been assigning was not all that accurate or descriptive. I'm feeling very discouraged right now and just had to delete a bunch of people from a Project out of concern that no matter what role I gave them (I tested each on my own alternate email) that they are still able to see messages that aren't meant for their eyes. This is an incredibly high accounting and privacy liability.

@Ben - guests can not not change anything on tasks not assigned to them and on tasks assigned to them they can only change status from Not Started to In Progress to Completed - https://freedcamp.com/profiles/help

This is definitely a missing role in the hierarchy. I see the 'guest' roll more for those who are members of the team, but perhaps not the task lead.
A guests should not be able to mark a task as completed if it is not assigned to them.

I really need a "Read Only" Guest Account. Is this still not possible?

Hi Mike & All,
Please test new 'contributor' profile we added, check Legend on new Manage Teams and Apps page and let us know what should be our next step. 'Read only' profile?

We will roll read-only role after we will launch new role which will be in between 'User' and 'Read-Only' - as I described below.

I would really like to see more powerful user role control too. It would be great to have three options for access instead of one:
Full access, create-only, and read-only.
I would really like to be able to build custom roles and allowing me to choose between the above three options would be very valuable.

Our plan now is to fix 'client' role/profile. We will create new role called 'guest' which will be simply - can do all by to things created by him/herself. Can delete only own TODO or only own comment or discussion. Can change a TODO status from “In Progress” to “Completed”, if this TODO was created by other user and assigned to 'guest' but can not edit this TODO or delete it.
After this we will ask all users using 'user' role to switch to either 'User' or new 'Guest' and delete 'Client' role and select and do next iteration making Freedcamp better. This can be 'Read only' role ot better control for who can see what items.

What about a role permission that allows someone to create new items but then not to be able to edit or remove them after they are created?
Our use of it is to collaborate with external people and use it as a record of agreed decisions. -

Actually role persmissions should be more than full control or nothing at all.

Hi Andre,
Can I rename it to "Create 'read only' profile"?
What about an option to invite someone or give someone a link to something (may be optionally having time expiration set)? So such users can only see a particular discussion or a task etc.?
Thank you
