2-Way sync with Google Calendar
I would love to be able to sync my Google calendar (both ways) with Freedcamp to allow me to see events that I create in Google Calendar in our Freedcamp, as well as items that I create within Freedcamp on my Google calendar (e.g. 2-way sync). This would be especially helpful when creating events that require invitations to be sent to people who are not Freedcamp users, (e.g. clients) and would allow us to easily duplicate events easily into other (e.g. Personal) Google calendars.

Actually,
this one is kind a important thing. I have Google Calendar on my phone and I would love to have All Project synced to that calendar just with one link. -

Thanks for examples - please keep posting. We will definitely look into it as soon as Freedcamp calendar has all features GCalendar has.

Another thing is that when I sync, i can manage de tasks on google calendar, but that changes doesn´t apply back to Freedcamp.
I gues that this is an important thing to do, since in the google calendar you can setup your day, changing the tasks positions so you can manage the hours better, and also, google calendar serves for centralizing all calendars you have on other apps.
I´m not saying that events created on google should appear o freedcamp calendar, because it might get confusing, since you didnt created those tasks in freedcamp. Just saying that if I change the event in any app it appears, it should change on the other apps too, so you´re more accurate on your to-dos. -
Hi,
Thanks for posting. We actually plan how we sync Freedcamp items to external calendars making it more universal - you will copy a link in Freedcamp and paste it to Google Calendar, iCal or Outlook. Once done we can do the same the other way around to allow you to copy a link in external Calendar and paste it to Freedcamp calendar. Freedcamp will poll periodically these links to update external events.
Totally agree - it will make it easier to start using Freedcamp's calendar instead. Add ability to share available times publicly so people can book you in and you have a perfect system.
Cheers,
Igor

This would be great and would cause me to start using Freedcamp calendar. Also a good way for you guys to lock in your users so should be good for business. Not sure if it would help, but if you want to seen an example of how others implemented Google Calendar sync (albeit for a different purpose), there is an open-source tool for Google Calendar/Outlook sync (which also happens to do contact sync but that's not relevant here), details here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/googlesyncmod/files/Releases/3.9.15/

It is not broken. A lot of systems have it done one way. We will definitely improve it but no ETA, sorry.

If this can not be fixed, I will probably stop using Freedcamp. No way I will deal with two incompatible systems. Major issue.

Agreed - this would greatly improve usability and updating project calendar remotely

To support it we need to make Freedcamp Calendar fully compatible with Google Calendar - at least have recurrence, time start/end and multiday events.

In the meantime I'd encourage resisting the redefinition of the term "syncing"/"synchronization." It certainly misled me. Real syncing is two-way. There's already a word for "one-way syncing," it's "mirroring."

Definitely, creating events is much faster in Google Calendar as well
