I really like Freedcamp and how it fits in my organization. We've purchased a membership for Freedcamp and loving the extra features. However, I miss one thing that would help us a lot. We work with budgets per project. I would like to know what the status is for adding a budget to a project (or project-list) so when our employees are timing, it gets withdrawn from the project.

I agree. Otherwise how will you know how much the project cost or if you are over budget midway
I agree, being able to track project expenses and budget is important. Just as we need to keep track of time and deadlines we also need to keep track of expenses and project profitability

So does freedcamp implemented the Costing Features into their software?
Quick books integration would be awesome.
This would be cool but sort of useless unless it connected to Freshbooks or Quickbooks or whatever else, otherwise you'd still have to keep track elsewhere.

You can always create a task or a discussion called 'Budget' and attach GDrive spreadsheet to it but this feature request is to have something like https://www.mavenlink.com/tour/time-and-expense#budgets as an application you can add to your projects.
Or a way to integrate an excel spreadsheet or something....
ActiveCollab does this quite good. It would be great if you can log time AND expenses per project. An example of an expense is a hosting cost, a freelancer cost, ... no internal working hours...

If you have an event within a project that you want to assign budget to. Would be good to be able to have some sort of simple spreadsheet ability.
Thanks for posting. Can you give us a few good links to good system which do this nicely but not Freedcamp :) ?
Start with a budgeted amount and then deduct parts purchased, labor, etc that are deducted from the actual budgeted cost to determine on or off budget report.

Considering that there is a timer and a Invoice tool, I would love a quick preview of some info for every projects finance, only visible for project admins. Helping to have a finance overview, specially focused on small business/freelancers finance overview, (payment is a big ToDo on every project)
- Project Budget (selected into categories: Paid, Unpaid, Finished with dates)
- Project Expenses (resting from the actual budget)
- Finance Overview/Report (getting week/month/year report of incomes and expenses)
