At this stage, we consider one of two options
1. Allow to select multiple people but create subtasks with a task’s title for every person selected
2. Allow assigning tasks to project teams

2. When Helen starts the task Mark can see it as a task started - assuming Mark has a filter for tasks he works on 'In Progress'?
3. Mark can set this task as 'Completed'. Helen will no longer see that task as task in Progress in her task lists filtered my tasks + in progress?

Is this how you envision it? Do you still think it is better than to use a standard approach with a tweak?
Create a task 'Review Contract', select Bob, John, Alice, save it and end up with Freedcamp creating for you:
'Review Contract' - task
'Review Contract' - subtask assigned to Bob
'Review Contract' - subtask assigned to John
'Review Contract' - subtask assigned to Alice
We can add extra settings to always close a task when all subtasks are completed and close all subtask when someone marks a parent task completed.
@Novation469 - we are working the next sprint on the following functionality (paid plans only as subtasks can only be assigned on paid plans):
When you create a task you can select multiple people
Freedcamp will automatically show subtasks with a task title assigned to those people
You can overwrite the title of subtasks before saving
If subtasks title is not overwritten and a task has a description we will add a link pointing to a parent task into subtasks descriptions
When you save you get all subtasks created for each person you selected

How about we add a multiple selection box when you create a task and IF you selected more than one person it will create a task and N subtasks - each assigned individually for you underneath 'Update BIO'?
@James - wouldn't it be easier to not assign a task but subscribe a few people who should consider doing a task. They decide who will be responsible and take it - others remain subscribed to help and contribute but ultimately they are no longer responsible for a delivery?
We still want to do it - so 'planned'. Most likely the first solution will be after project teams will be removed, global teams will just become teams - we will allow assigning teams to items.
@Johannes - the problem is this for you, who completed this task, it should show as completed, for you, as a project manager it should show as not completed. For the rest of the team who do not manage a project, it should go away from their radars when they completed it.
Maybe it will be easier to allow to create a task, assign a team or all or selected individuals and select - create subtasks for each person assigned which will duplicate this task as a subtask for each person?
In this case, 10/13 works as we already have it in Subtasks Pro as you, as a manager, know that subtasks assigned to you is completed by you BUT it is still 10/13?

@Anna - yes all project users except those who have 'User' security profile can reassign tasks to other users in a project.
We are launching advanced subtasks next week - they have all the attributes of a normal task - priority, assignee, due date, description, status, comments etc. It will cost $2.99 unlimited users and projects a month.
This solves a bit a problem with multiple assignments.
Next I want to attack Calendar events to add start date, start/end time, recurrence and flexible reminders and change a way we allow to export/share calendars so it becomes instantly compatible with GCalendar, iCal and Outlook.

We will also try to make perfect time recording for tasks and integrate tasks time with our time tracking application and improve Invoices+ app to allow to do both bill clients/pay contractors - has more votes that each of above in top list.

Ok. As I see it most people just want a task to be done and they want this task to be shown for a few people as a task assigned to them and let them to decide who will do it.
I am hoping to see people who need each person to "brush teeth" or "review contract" and check a task as completed for it to be marked as completed. Otherwise it will show 3/5 and not completed. Project administrators probably can still close such tasks.
Subtasks - can be solved but if you have such case:
"I have a scenario where my client has two business decision makers and I want to add a task to sign-off a task group to both of them."
and you have 5 people it will be time consuming to create 5 subtasks and assign each. In addition it will be not clear what to do with a parent task - who this should be assigned to?
I want to also highlight that we will be launching subtasks pro to new pricing plans in two flavours.
1. Subtasks with ability to assign them to people, set status and due dates, have description and comments.
2. All in (1) + up to 6 levels of nesting in subtasks
Looks like solution will be to let a task to be completed (BY DEFAULT) in this manner 3/5 (if assigned to 5 people) with clear indication who are 3 people who marked it completed and mark a task as completed when it is 5/5. However we should probably allow to change default and allow to make task completed as soon as anyone assigned checks it off.

It works for multiple people assignments and they have 3 ways:
1. Everyone assigned marks as completed
2. Anyone assigned marks as completed
3. Task has 0-100% bar and completed as soon as anyone sets it to 100%
I think 1-2 is enough to solve this and % completion can be tackled when we will start looking at better Time Tracking and Tasks integration and talk to all of you specifically about how do you want to track task's progress - by using %-meter as above or setting time required and measure against time recorded or something else.

I am thinking should we make a special Freedcamp project with just Discussions installed for all feature requests reaching say 50 votes and inviting everyone who voted to a discussion in Freedcamp? I can invite all who is still using Freedcamp and you guys are free to reject. I suspect we lost some voters as Freedcamp users inevitably. For you it will show up as a project called 'Freedcamp community' and you can subscribe to Discussions, unsubscribe or leave a project.
What do you think? Currently I see that only 5 out of 103 people subscribed to comments - so I am posting now only for 5 people :(

Regarding "when i create a "todo" there is the option of "notify" but when i submint the "todo" it disappear so if i want to add people that i would like to follow the todo i can not!!!" - this is not true. Open a task after it was created and check boxes on right side of the page in 'Notifications' block.
We have just added an option to subscribe to a TODO more than one person (it is assigned to one person but you can notify more than one person).
Please let us know if actual assignment to more than one person is required. Keep in mind that we are planning to add groups and ability to assign to a group in future too.
We are constantly asking people to tell us why do they need to assign multiple people to the same task. Here is one of the answers: "I was trying to assign 2 - 3 people to a single 'To do's task where they have different role to perform. True that I can assign 2 - 3 separate 'To-do's for them. But I have a constraint where I can't (impossible) further decomposed the 'TO do's due to the local requirements."
We are also adding Subscribe module you see in Discussions to TODOs so you can assign one person and subscribe others.
@Miranda thank you for sending us the use case. As a temporary measure I'll suggest you create a to-do group for each group of students. If you'd like you can list their names in the description of the To-Do group.
This is a note for people following this feature. Please give us some use cases where one task needs to be assigned to two people.
Just an update about this feature and the possibilities we are considering.
First of all as seen in most other Project Management systems there will always be one person the task is assigned to officially.
However, when our module/plugins become available an extension would be ability to add more "Roles" like Task Lead and Co-Asignee. This way we can still have a clear assigned to person, but still allow to include others in on the task.
We are working on a way of implementing this, however in the meantime a small trick to use is assigning a To-Do to someone you want to be involved then re-assigning it to another person. This will subscribe anyone who the To-Do was assigned to so they will receive notifications about comments and updates to the To-Do.
Checking if you use Google Tasks and really want this feature to be developed.

This feature is to expose Freedcamp tasks as Google Mail Tasks. I am not sure how we can do it because Google Mail tasks are very very basic.

@Maikol - yes, it is a duplicate. We use the free plan which does not allow us to merge requests and sum up the votes.

@Maikol - we generally are good at changing statuses to Planned/Started/Completed and keep this site in sync with the development process. The status will be changed when it will be planned.

This is not so easy because you can be copying a project from a project group you do not own but a project group administrator for and if you will create a project group in your account, as suggested, and it won't show up anyway because a project can NOT be copied across accounts.
In this case, you will be surprised why created project group is still not available to copy to
Tasky is a personal not attached to any project task list always accessible from the header (top right corner)
We will provide ETA when we will actually start working on this part and status here will be changed to ‘started’. Most likely, it will be Q1 2018.

Yes - grand idea is to:
- allow track time on tasks and subtasks-pro
- allow to run reports in Time app
- allow to pull completed only tasks for a time period (bill all completed task completed in Oct 2017)
- allow to pull all time for a period of time (bill all time worked in Oct 2017)
- allow to do all by a project or across multiple/all/completed projects
- allow to hand pick tasks to bill
- allow not only to bill clients but also export what you have to pay to your contractors - all above use cases will also apply.
In the future:
- apply rates to people you pay
- apply rates to clients you bill
@Jaroslav - you can create a saved search - Show only not completed time tasks so you can keep it as default but remove it with one click, if you need to see all records.

We have switched to full time work one month ago. You will see a lot of improvements in 2014.
Adding full blown email client will be very hard. What if instead we will ask you what email client you are using and develop plugins allowing to access projects and tasks from your existing email client instead?
@Steve - thanks on UX part and our opinions are the same regarding Bitrix. I will email you directly regarding responding to Freedcamp so we do not discuss potential bug or lack of documentation here.
@Steve - Bitrix24 has an email client but it is provided in cooperation with Yandex (read - your email will be handled by Russian company just fyi). This is the only one I know and .. I have no idea if it provides any integrations with actual Bitrix24. I will not comment on Bitrix24 user interface and usability - please check it yourself.
It is not going to happen in next 12 months for sure.
What to do and how to show anything if by an accident you set an event for a weekend or set a task start date to Saturday?
It probably needs to be an account mode where nothing will be allowed to be scheduled for weekends - validated out. In this case, it can be hidden with 100% certainty that you won't miss anything.
