We have two use cases here.
1. Making is super easy to work with clients. Clients can see only Discussion and Tasks which specifically marked as visible to them. Rest is not visible to them
2. Allowing true privacy – concept described by Caroline. Once this mode is enabled users can create private tasks and decide who they want to share it with.
@Caroline – I assume project and project group administrators should be able to see private tasks. Right?
NEW UPDATEProbably we should move Private Tasks and Private Discussions into a separate add-on which is not available by default.
We have requests for private tasks and we have requests for disabling privacy – when a teacher in a school does not want students to create private tasks at all.
I assume functionality similar to Private Discussions we already have in Freedcamp is what you are after.
OLD UPDATE…
An error occurred while saving the comment @Sasha-Shae - it only looks to be as simple as in Discussions.
We need to rewrite essentially all Tasks and Milestones to make sure that a milestone cannot be assigned to a person who can not see some private tasks in that milestone, add extra validations that you can not add a private subtask to a task whose assignee cannot see that private subtask and about 100 other use cases.Without subtasks and linked to Tasks applications - Milestones, Time etc - I agree it would be relatively easy.
Note: This feature was requested in 2012 and only 137 people voted for it. About 800 people join Freedcamp daily.
If this is a must-have functionality and you can not use a separate project to track customer tasks I would honestly and respectfully suggest finding another system with an ability to handle private tasks.
An error occurred while saving the comment @Mateusz - see feature status to check if it is completed or not. Completed features has status ... "Completed" :)

I think concept of making private tasks from your coworkers in a project is very questionable to be in demand. I hear about it for the first time. Can you give us a use case please?

An error occurred while saving the comment Please explain your ideal workflow here or email help@freedcamp.com if you do not want to share publicly. How exactly do you want to integrate with MailChimp is the main question.
The easiest way for us is to add required Zapier actions/triggers and searches. MailChimp already integrates with Zapier

An error occurred while saving the comment I have been using viewflux.com to collaborate on screenshots, design elements etc. I would love to see something like this on Freedcamp. It provides you the ability to upload an image and point out specific elements that are connected with comments

Hi,
Thanks for posting! Will the following text inside the email body
→ 30/08/18
- Create design 10/08/18 <→ 15/08/18
- Implement design 16/08/18 <→ 25/08/18
which will create a task from email with a due date 30 Aug and two subtasks with start/due dates work for you?
Regards,
IgorAn error occurred while saving the comment Let's start with start/due date. Please note if you email in into the free plan project - start date will be ignored.
Add the following into email subject:
->15/08/18 This is my email subject line
- this will create a task with a due date
15/08/18-> This is my email subject line
- this will create a task with a start date
15/08/18<->20/08/18 This is my email subject line
- this will create a task with a start date and a due date

An error occurred while saving the comment @Maikol - no ETA at this stage, sorry about it.
An error occurred while saving the comment @Veronique - most likely after when Freedcamp calendar will have drag and drop, resize functions as well ability to show multiday events as lines
An error occurred while saving the comment @ColBird - please check here https://freedcamp.com/Freedcamp_LxR/Freedcamp_Devel_yOf/wiki/wiki_public/view/fhaab#sharing-calendars
An error occurred while saving the comment We are launching ability to filter Freedcamp Calendar (optional), name it as you like and push to Google Calendar next release.
Ability to do above from Calendar board.
You can push the same calendar twice to Google. Share one with those who need to see content and share another one in see free/busy time only (Google Calendar provides this option) and share this calendar with those who do not need to see particulars.
Cheers,
IgorAn error occurred while saving the comment @Alexey - do you want Google tasks in Freedcamp or one sync link from Freedcamp to Google (this is what we are about to finish and release)?
Cheers,
IgorAn error occurred while saving the comment Thanks for examples - please keep posting. We will definitely look into it as soon as Freedcamp calendar has all features GCalendar has.

An error occurred while saving the comment Hi,
Thanks for posting. We actually plan how we sync Freedcamp items to external calendars making it more universal - you will copy a link in Freedcamp and paste it to Google Calendar, iCal or Outlook. Once done we can do the same the other way around to allow you to copy a link in external Calendar and paste it to Freedcamp calendar. Freedcamp will poll periodically these links to update external events.
Totally agree - it will make it easier to start using Freedcamp's calendar instead. Add ability to share available times publicly so people can book you in and you have a perfect system.
Cheers,
Igor
Best Regards,
IgorAn error occurred while saving the comment It is not broken. A lot of systems have it done one way. We will definitely improve it but no ETA, sorry.

An error occurred while saving the comment @Neal - even here at Freedcamp this is not the case. We start a task often and add subtasks later to branch out while a top-level task is still NOT a container and should not be closed but a signal for an assignee (say developer) that specification (subtask), design (subtask) are completed and he/she can continue doing top-level task.

Hi Jody,
CRM is a project group application https://freedcamp.com/Freedcamp_LxR/Freedcamp_Devel_yOf/wiki/wiki_public/view/Pgaab
You can access project group applications from Project Board https://freedcamp.com/dashboard
They are shown next to a project group name or inside project picker – same. You do not need to go into a project to access it. Side menu inside all projects in a project group will show CRM link to the same CRM added to that project group. You are right to the point that Invoices, Passwords and CRM should probably become global apps not project group related – you add those who you want to be able to access it by selecting from invited users or just inviting directly to Passwords without a need to invite to a project first.
Regards,
IgorAn error occurred while saving the comment @Jody - thanks for sharing. This is a way to go, for now.
An error occurred while saving the comment @Jody - best way will be to create a GDrive folder, allow read-only access and create Wiki pointing to it with explanations. Create projects from Template having this Wiki already inside the template (Business plan only) or just create Wiki by copy/pasting in each new project.
Do not forget to add new members as shared with on GDrive.

An error occurred while saving the comment @Jody - thanks for clarifications. We were just thinking opposite - you go to Notifications page and check and mark red updates from all projects. You can also filter and do them one by one if you want. Compare this to going to each project and check left side panel for new updates - many more frictions here.

We integrated Freedcamp Time Tracking with Tasks and Issues now https://blog.freedcamp.com/2021/09/25/seamlessly-track-time-on-tasks-and-issues/
An error occurred while saving the comment No progress - sorry. Starting Tasks and Time integration instead in Freedcamp + better integration with Invoices to track what time was billed and/or paid easily across all projects with various options as to pay/bill for completed tasks only, time worked by a period (last month) etc.
An error occurred while saving the comment Hi David,
Thanks for posting.
We adding time logging for tasks now with next step - linking our own time tracking with TODO's time logs.
Basically you can just manually add time to TODOs and/or see them in Time Tracking app and start/stop/resume from it as well.

An error occurred while saving the comment @Penny - thanks for posting! Do you know that you can remove all application except Files? So it will be a project group 'Team files and documents' with a project having the same name and Files only app added to it. Maybe Wikis (if makes sense?) can be added and if you are on Business plan. You can also add Discussions to have all unrelated to any project conversations in there too.

Hi Zack,
Thanks for posting:)
Asana/Slack organisations/teams create completely separated silos of things you will never see together. Correct?
So you are proposing to separate instead of adding, for example task groups tags and be able to separate (filter by tags),but also easily be able to see all your tasks across multiple jobs together.
Interesting ….
Cheers,
IgorAn error occurred while saving the comment It was not implemented.
An error occurred while saving the comment We will be adding Spaces concept so you can add project group to Spaces and filter out and see only Work 1 or only Work 2 or only Private Spaces but you can allso remove filtering by Space and see it all together.

An error occurred while saving the comment Do you mean showing all invited people? CRM is a project group application - so in this case - showing all people invited to projects in that project group?

Hi All,
Please list what is required.
Dedicated email to allow people to email in new issues – DONE
In the scope on next change:
- allow an issue reporter (not a Freedcamp user) to respond back to update an issue
- clearly mark such comments
- clearly mark responses you are sending to an issue reporter
As a result you can use Issue Tracker:
- to let external users to report issues via email or embedded form we already provide
- to let external users to continue conversations by replying to emails you email them as a response
- to see 3 types of comments when you open an issues – internal comments, issue reporter comments, your responses to an issue reporter.
Thank you

An error occurred while saving the comment @Charles - you can collapse all subtasks and we do show not a progress bar but 3/5 which means 3 subtasks are completed from 5 existing.
Otherwise, system's becomes just unmanageable - you can have 5 subtasks and a bullet list attached to a task with 10 entries and now there is a need to show two progress bars etc.
I will keep this idea posted to see traction.
An error occurred while saving the comment Add bullet list to task's description and use strikethrough to mark completed? :)

We are already working now on a new concept called Dashboards that will support the Summary widget (pie, bar, battery, or card output), Table, and Buttons widgets. Essentially dashboards are custom reports and you can create as many dashboards as you need with as many widgets with drag and drop capability to set your perfect layout. Eventually, Dashboards will supersede the Widgets page. Dashboards can be private, shared with all team members (new members will see it too) or selected team members. Initially, dashboards will be added to the Enterprise plan.
An error occurred while saving the comment @Krystal - did you check https://freedcamp.com/Freedcamp_LxR/Freedcamp_Devel_yOf/wiki/wiki_public/view/Xzbab (the 1st picture) - you can reorder easily both - project groups and projects?
Cheers,
IgorAn error occurred while saving the comment Have the ability to view projects in different ways besides just large tiles. A list view, date added view, date of completion view, by importance, by lack of progress.

Hi Zlatko,
Thanks for posting.
Do you think this has to be a default for all projects or only when you are the only person in it – a solo project?
Cheers,
IgorAn error occurred while saving the comment @Rob - try this:
- switch to list view if you use Kanban or Gantt
- create a bunch of tasks - just title and descriptions
- drag and drop due dates and priority as well as a tag with your name from right side panel to tasks. An error occurred while saving the comment May be it will be better to go adaptive style?
If you are in a solo project - tasks are assigned to you
If not solo after you created 3 tasks and assign all of them to yourself it becomes a new default. If you crated 3 unassigned - it becomes a default etc. What do you think?
@Scott - to highlight overdue projects we need to add start and due date for projects and define when a project is considered overdue. Regarding adding what is shown - we have just released new calendar and I will add project name and project group name to Agenda and Daily views where we have space to show them. In the monthly view, you can see project name when you click on an item.
@Mark - please my note above. Please also note that we add project and project group name to calendar links and data we push to Google Calendar via GSync so you can always use this and see this info in your external calendar if it can display long titles
