We have two use cases here.

    1. Making is super easy to work with clients. Clients can see only Discussion and Tasks which specifically marked as visible to them. Rest is not visible to them

    2. Allowing true privacy – concept described by Caroline. Once this mode is enabled users can create private tasks and decide who they want to share it with.

@Caroline – I assume project and project group administrators should be able to see private tasks. Right?

    NEW UPDATE

Probably we should move Private Tasks and Private Discussions into a separate add-on which is not available by default.

We have requests for private tasks and we have requests for disabling privacy – when a teacher in a school does not want students to create private tasks at all.

I assume functionality similar to Private Discussions we already have in Freedcamp is what you are after.

    OLD UPDATE

    Hi All!

Should a poll have an optional due date after which voting is not allowed?

Should we send people having access to a poll who haven’t voted yet reminders and if so – how many and how often?

    Thanks
    Igor

    "Hello,

I am trialling some of your products and was wondering with the CRM module if you can have CRM tasks show in the ‘Tasks’ view of a project. Also, can you associate as existing task in the ‘Task’ view with a contact. The two systems seem to be quite distinct, but ideally would be together.

Also, if you allocate a call/task to a contact, on the contact page you are shown a list of calls and tasks, however these really need to be hyperlinked to the actual call to make it work well. A quick summary would be good also to show when the call was made and who was on call. It would make assessing a contacts history much easier within the contact tab.

I am not sure if the module is yet ready for our use case, but would be interested in your reply to the above.

    Regards
    Paul"

    Hi Lance,

If you are not using Issue Tracker already - https://freedcamp.com/marketplace/issue_tracker_app you can add it to a project and use it as you described.

I actually think that it will be more productive not to decide on sub-status names but give you a reasonable amount of spots - say up to 10 and let you decide which ones you need and how they relate to main statuses.

Some will use 5 spots to have sub-statuses for 'No Progress', 2 - 'In Progress' and 2 for 'Completed' some will decide to use them differently.

    Main point here:
    - we do not enforce sub-status names as all projects require different ones
    - we give you enough spots - 10
    - sub-statuses should be easy to copy when a new project is created from an existing project
    - tasks can have a status with no sub-status
    - sub-statuses can be added, removed and edited after project was created.

Posting feedback from a client I got in support here:

    No Progress/Delayed
    No Progress/On Hold
    In Progress/Testing
    In Progress/Pending Response
    Completed/Duplicate
    Completed/Cancelled

    Would be helpful.

    Even better would be:

    In Progress / Pending Approval

    Thanks,
    Keith

    Hi Stephen,

Do you use Task groups? How about creating a task group called 'Waiting for deployment' and moving tasks to it with drag and drop or by editing? We, at Freedcamp, create task groups with Sprint number - say Sprint 12 now. Completed tasks get closed, tasks requiring some SQL to be completed or configuration of the system changed - we add prefix to this task (FOR BUILD TASK) and assign this to a person upgrading app (which is me in our case).

If we add extra statuses more likely it will be a Marketplace module with a fee attached to it.

    Hi Adrianne,

Are you talking about 'My Tasks' widget? Use Todos widget - it allows you to select yourself and set what statuses you want to see.

    Cheers,
    Igor

We are working on improving Issue Tracker now and we are planning to integrate it with TODOs in future.

    Thank you.

The only way it will be possible for now - via Zapier.

We do not use Slack. We tried it – does not work for us. So knowing what you need is very important for us to do right triggers with Zapier.

    Please post in comments

When X event is in Freedcamp I want to be able to see Y in Slack.

Please be as precise as you can. Slack has channels, teams. We have project, groups, projects etc.

By looking at Zapier now I can see only two possible options:

Create a Freedcamp task from new starred Slack message
Push Freedcamp notification to a Slack channel

Regarding: "api for slack to hook into so as to pull updates from Freedcamp tabs into slack channels." - do you want each project to be a separate channel or all updates should be pushed to a single channel.

Regarding: " It would be nice if a channel in slack could directly update a discussion/todo/wall in Freedcamp." It would be nice but to be able to do so we need to establish 1:1 relationship between a channel A in Team B and a discussion X in project Y.

Please be realistic if you use both Freedcamp and Slack and tell us what do you really need.
Statements like "It would be nice to see a Service Hook for it" are too hard to take seriously.

    Hi All,

Here is a quick status update.

    We need to:

    1. Integrate Time + Tasks
    2. Improve time reporting, add global Time board
    3. Integrate better Time + Invoices.

I have no ETA, sorry. And I want to do 1 before 2.

If you love Freedcamp and really need this functionality for your business please consider sponsoring this feature to be developed faster – http://blog.freedcamp.com/2015/11/25/sponsor-feature-development-get-freedcamp-life-time-free-with-unlimited-storage/

Thank you for continuing support and understanding the challenges our team faces building freemium products and supporting thousands of schools, universities and non-profits around the world.

At the moment we source Freedcamp by closing such deals with existing business users and obviously continue improving Freedcamp by adding features which ARE sponsored.

In 2016 we will be concentrating on launching new pricing plans and use revenues generated by them to sell more of paid plans.

Our word – we will never force free users…

Reposting from blog post comments - http://blog.freedcamp.com/2015/05/29/using-time-tracking-in-freedcamp-check-last-improvements/:

I love time management on the To Do level. However I also want to run some reports to run for better visibility –

    1. Time spent by user each day on all projects
    2. Time spent on a project.
    3. Total hours of employees in a day/week/month

Above dashboards will be very useful for keeping 360 degrees visibility to billable time.

How many updates will fit into top bar? Two one liners or two lines from one update? Have you tried to pin https://freedcamp.com/dashboard/notifications - it shows you all new updates.

    Hi Johny,

We have page https://freedcamp.com/marketplace/subscriptions available from a drop/down below your avatar in a right top corner.

It is not possible to tell what is installed as you can have Time installed in projects A, B and D but not in X, Y and Z.

If I may share my experience with this in Freedcamp.
I created a discussion group called 'Igor's staff' and made it visible to anyone. In here I have different topics for design, development and other areas of interest where I post. Freedcamp team gets my updates daily in a digest email as no one is subscribed and can comment or share their opinions if they want to.

It is possibly to subscribe multiple people but assign only one person. We will be adding multiple people assignments and sub-tasks (which also makes possible to assign a task to multiple people as each sub-task can be assigned) later this year.

Who should be able to edit, change status of a such TODO from your point of view. Person who created it or anyone who is assigned to it?

    Hi Anouk,

Does it mean everyone should do this task like 'Brush your teeth' - so you do not really care who will pick it up as everyone should or 'Call a client' - you do not want a few people to call that client, right? Or ... you want a person who is actually taking responsibility to remove others?
For me assigning to a group makes sense - letting a group to decide actual person or tasks where everyone assigned needs to complete but who will mark this task as completed in this case..

Can you email me or post here a good use case please?

    Regards,
    Igor
