Global search across all projects
Add an ability to search across all projects.
Global search is available now. Project search is improved – uses the same user interface with a project pre-selected. Check magnifying glass icon on the top right if you are on Homepage, Tasks/Calendar/Widgets boards. Inside a project search is located in the same spot – the top left corner – a project will be preselected but you can remove it and search globally while inside a project.
Search by any text will be improved and become more intelligent in the next few months – we are starting a project right now to make it happen.

Is there a global search yet?

I'm commenting here right now (and looking for nicer words than the one that starts with F, that resonates with my current user experience) because of a series of wasted click up-and-downs through the search input and the project list and scrolling the tasks and task lists... just to check if I recorded something related to the thought in my head. That is a huge waste of time. And also I forgot the other 3 thoughts which jumped up together.
(IF I could remember/recall tasks and related details than I would not need any 'productivity' tool. IF I could remember/recall if I recorded a thought I would not need any of these tools. IF I could remember/recall where I recorded a thought I would not need any of these tools. - The thing is that I can't and I don't want to do this for the tasks and their details in my many projects and activities. So, please, support this use case with your going-to-be productivity service!)
As of today, this feature request is the 8th in the top-list and it's tagged 'Planned' - could you inform us when will you deliver it?
Cheers! -
@Shawn - you will have an updated version of Reports next release. I think what you are asking is more relevant as a reporting functionality rather than global search where an assumption is that you search across the board for something like 'Find everything posted last week with a word 'specification' and having files attached to it'

I would love the ability to view and report on how many tasks/projects each resource is assigned to. also how many are still incomplete.

This is an absolute must. We have many Projects and some Discussions are interrelated over several Projects. Searching Project by Project is not really an effective/efficient option!

I would agree, huge efficiencies gained if this was included.

Still not global search. This feature is so important. The absence of this featured is not allowing you to graduate into the big league.

Is this being implemented in the mobile versions?

Global search across all projects is huge! I've enjoyed this function in other PM applications and it can save a ton of time trying to find something specific.

Search across all projects is a must

Would love a global search option that searches all projects- A lot of my projects are interrelated , and sometimes takes me a while to find a topic/discussion.

@Makis - thanks for contributing! You are correct but for Tasks only. Same is true for Calendar board where you can also search Milestones, Issues and Events. You can also narrow your search by using search operators - https://freedcamp.com/Freedcamp_LxR/Freedcamp_Devel_yOf/wiki/wiki_public/view/qLaab#search-operators to search in titles, descriptions or comments

Is it possible via https://freedcamp.com/dashboard/tasks.

This might be my deciding factor of leaving Freedcamp :(

This is badly needed!

Has this feature been added? Sadly, a global search function is a requirement for our company. We have hundreds of projects and many more to come. I don't think we can use freedcamp without it.

I need this desperately! We are a publishing company and need to be able to quickly access a project.

Totally agree! I have lots of projects (in fact our team have lots of project that we are all part of), and sometimes i need to find a particular task or discussion but don't know which project it is in or too many to go through to find it. Spend too much time trying to find what I want.
Given that there is already a search function within a project, can that not be extended to include a search to find something in all projects?
Thanks :)

It would really be great to search the project names!
(Also having time icon at the top of the front page would be great too)

I waste a lot of time searching for projects in the long list.
It doens't at the beginning have to be a very comprehensive search, but it's really a need
